Why do I need a Buffer in my chain? (or two...)

A Buffer is a pro audio solution designed to restore the optimal quality of your guitar signal.

Buffers amplify your signal without adding any ‘color’ to your tone. Although, some buffers may feel like they add some brightness as they recover the ‘lost’ high-end of your guitar.

Long cables and big pedalboards with lots of ‘True-Bypass’ or (even worse) ‘Non True-Bypass’ pedals, can add a certain level of capacitance to your guitar’s signal. Capacitance affects the quality of your tone, by reducing the high-end signal that your amp receives. Therefore, you may hear a big difference when you plug your guitar directly to your amp, than when you use your full rig (bypassed).

If you experience ‘Tone loss’ on your rig, the AFX Dual Buffer offers an optimal solution for this issue. Just use one buffer line at the start of your pedal chain, and another one at the very end of your pedal chain. This should give you a tasty pedalboard sandwich, with two top quality, organic, stress-free, keto, vegan, protein-packed loafs of (buffer) bread.

This will make sure that the finest quality of signal reaches your amp and you don't lose any of your beautiful tone throughout the way.

Here are some different ways in which you can integrate the AFX Dual Buffer into your pedalboard:
